Work

Well work is going good. The farmers around here are busy getting beans and corn out of the fields so that means the guys across the street are busy. The elevator is up and going, not all of it but they are at least able to take in the crops. With all that comes us at the store busy with the farmers and guys across the street.
My boss Carol hurt her arm a couple of weeks ago, come to find out she tore her rotater cuff in the right arm. I feel so bad for her. She tore the left one about 5 years ago. She hated having surgery on it and now has to go through it again. So I will be putting in some extra hours at the store while shes gone. Oh well that works with Christmas coming up soon i will need the extra money. Well that's all for now hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Divorced

Well it has been a while since i have been on here again.... So i figured I would give an update. I went to court on the 20th of August and the judge approved the divorce and my name change. So on the 20 th of September I will once again be Alisha Forbes. The divorce will be final and I have so totally moved on.
I have met a wonderful man named Keith. He treats me so good its hard to believe. He has met the parents and now just has to meet my brother and friends. We are going to Crawford over the weekend of the 15, 16, 17 and 18 of October. We will be helping mom and dad round up and sell calves. Keith is very excited about it. I am to i am so ready for a vacation. I need to get away from this place for a while hopefully those 5 days will do it.
We are trying to find a time to go to South Carolina to see his family. Not sure when it will happen though. I am excited to meet his family. We are coming up on the holidays so maybe we can get something worked out then.
Mercedes is doing good she is definitely a 2 year old. The temper tantrums are getting the better of me. I wish we could just skip them. She is growing up so fast. She has wonderful times at daycare, everyday she comes home with a new song they learned, or phrases from other kids. We have to go do some fall shopping for clothes and i am kinda scared. I know she went from a 7 to a 9 in shoes. So who knows what else we skipped.

A month

Well one month down one to go before the divorce is final. I am getting an apt. i will be able to move on the 1st of Aug. I am excited to get moved in. It will be nice to get in a place that is cheaper. I wont have to worry about mowing,watering, or trimming up a lawn. I am going to miss the yard for Mercedes but we can always go to the park and she will be able to play here at her dads house.
Work is going good. We have gotten busy lately. With all the ball games and summer activities it has picked up. I am staying busy so that helps. I had a very relaxing fun time up at Crawford over the fourth. I stayed the night Thursday with Jody and Josh cause of the storm. It was so wonderful of Josh to lay down with Mercedes and put her to bed. I loved it. So a big THANK YOU TO JOSH. Carie made awesome salads for the fourth. We had a wonderful time. As always didn't make it around to see everyone, but i enjoyed the day any way saw a few people town town at the bar so that was nice. well i better end this. Till next time.

update

Well I decided to do an update on here. Not sure what all about but i will find something.
Oh well biggest of them is I did file for a divorce. It will go to court in Aug. I am moving forward and so is he. We have been doing some talking and we realized that the feelings needed for a loving relationship were not there for a long time. I think we were just going threw the motions and making it look good. We both realized that we didn't want each other anymore so we are moving on. "On to bigger and greener pastures."
Mercedes is proving to be a typical 2 year old with temper tantrums, I don't have to's, and I can do it's. She is such a silly girl. We played in the sprinkler for a little bit today. She is getting so tall. she love to play in the backyard so long as the dog leaves her alone. He likes to take her toys away to get her to play with him.
I am planning on spending the fourth of July up at Crawford. YA it has been a long time since I have celebrated the fourth up there. Mercedes and I will be up on the 2nd after work. Then I have to work the night of the fifth. I am sure that Mercedes is going to love the parade. When it gets closer I will have more exact plans made. Well i am going to end this for now.

Long time no blog

Wow so I know its been a long time since I have blogged but I didn't know it has been this long.
The only real news there is to tell is that Chip and I are separated. He moved out about a month ago. We are agreeing on the fact that we grew apart as the reason why. I have Mercedes and he takes her usually on Friday nights and brings her back Saturday afternoon. Them gets her again Sunday afternoon for the night. With me working at 5 in the morning it is hard with her, but he comes over at 4:45 to stay with her till he takes her to daycare at 8. It is a little confusing and awkward but it works. I am planning on filing for a divorce but with Mercedes I have to talk to the juvenile court judge first so I am not sure what is gonna happen. Other than that there is not much going on. I just thought people may be talking so I would post it on here for you all to know whats happening. It has been a month so I am sure its going around.
Mercedes is getting so big. She loves to play outside in the yard. I just wish the weather would cooperate it has rained so much I havn't got the lawn mowed.It can rain today and I think I will get to it the next day and then it has to rain again. With my lawn mower the grass has to be pretty dry to.Well i think that is it for now. I will try to keep you all updated on the big stuff.

Moving Out

Well last night I was sitting at the table watching Mercedes as she is jumping on her bed. "Mommy look I jumping" she would holler at me. "yes I see you jumping, are you supposed to be jumping on your bed?" Well she must have thought, Okay mom i wont' jump on the bed. Pretty soon she had the mattress off the frame in the middle of her room jumping on the mattress that is now on the floor. "Look mom i jumping on floor." "Ya I see your jumping, Be careful so you don't hit your head." Well it must not have been much fun because she soon had the mattress folded in half. As she is crawling up on it trying to stand up I am thinking this is gonna be bad. She got one and a half jumps in as she came flying out the door. "WEEEE that was fun." i told her if she is gonna do that she needed to move it into the living room where there was a little more room. So she did. By the end of the night she had the mattress, frame, pillow, blankets off the bed in the living room. She had toys, chair, and a few balls all in the living room. I took pictures of her jumping and sent it to my mom, Mary, Nick, Jody and Carie. They all said what is she jumping on? then sent them the one of her moving the bed, " She must be moving out" I kept asking her what she was doing and she told me " Not now mom i busy".
Come bed time we had to put all our stuff back in the bedroom. It wasn't as much fun to put it away but to my surprise she didn't throw a big fit. I helped her and "work together mom" " team work" . She had fun.

Not much

Well not much new going on around here. We have been working and enjoying the sunshine when it shows up. The city is working on the sewer system in town. They have 4 blocks they have to tear up and ours is one of them. We have a giant pipe sticking out of the ground in the front yard and back by the garage. Thank god we did not have anything in the garage to get out because they put it to close in front of the big door to get anything out. It is just the beginning to. They said the sewer line is below the water line here and had to put these big pipes in to pump water out of the trench needed to get to the sewer line. So there is much more to come. Rumor is there will be a clean up crew redo all the yards they tear up, but no one had told us anything.
I think thats it nothing to exciteing which is good sometimes. Hope all have a good week.

got it

Ok so I have been working on getting a pretty blog for I don't know how long and I FINALLY got it. Took me a little adding and removing but wallah.
Not much is going on in the town of Gothenburg. The elevator that blow up on November 20 is coming right along. They crew got all of the corn out, I believe they have the rubble out and now are starting the work of tear this part out and level this part ect....It will be a long process, but everyday you see it coming along.
The weather had been okay for the last few days I just don't understand why the WIND HAS to BLOW!!
The store is getting a new look!! There is a team here to redo our canopy, repaint, and put up a new digital sign, that will be so nice. No more going out in the cold and wind to put up numbers. Not that I had to do it but I do feel for Marty.
There are geese galore out on the lake. There is a nice sized lake up on the hill that gets covered in geese this time of year and it is full. It gets so gross up there. There is a nice path to walk on if you don't mind stepping in 2 inches of goose poop.

Losing a loved one

On February 8 2009 my Grandma Forbes passed away. I was getting ready for Mercedes birthday party out at Nick And Mary's. Mary and I were cleaning the house when the phone rang. We both looked at each other and knew what it was. I said that's my mom, sure enough it was. We carried on with the party. Then Chip and I went back to mom and dads.
We stayed the whole week.What a long full week it was. Thursday was the funeral Kirk Carie Katie Shawn Cory Jeff Chip and I were pall bears, while Kain Chaney and Mercedes were honorary pall bearers. Mercedes did a wonderful job she kept reminding me that we had to be quite cause grandma was sleeping. She was so good, i felt bad for her when we started singing, my grandma loved to have everyone sing so the congregation sang on the wings of a dove. Mercedes started crying when we were in the middle of the song. I told her that we had to sing to Grandma, that made her feel better, she even started singing.
We laid my grandma to rest beside my Grandpa, and next to her parents. Then we returned to the church for cake and coffee and a lot of reminiscing.

Good Laugh

Well we have snow down here but not as much as Crawford. We maybe have 2 inches. The high today is 11. As I am writing this I noticed it has started snowing again.
I had a real good laugh the other night. Mercedes was dancing around the living room just having a ball. I was sitting here watching her and singing the song, i got real puzzled for a minute. She keep watching something, it took me a minute to figure it out but i got it!!. She was watching her shadow. If was funny, and amazing at the same time. I was also surprised when later she came up to me and one by one counted the little ball animals she had, all the way to 11. the first time she said 5 6 5 8 , I corrected her 2 times and then she had it. She did it for my mom on the phone last night to. My how they grow!! On Thursday she will be 2. that means we have had her 17 months, wow how time flies.
This morning I was late for work. The first time in almost 5 years that I have been late. Well unscheduled late there have been a few times working another shift that I have called and told them I would be late. But opening you really shouldn't be late. I got up at the time I was to be at work, 5:15 a.m. I looked at the clock, ran to the bathroom, changed, wet my hair sprayed it a little, threw make-up in a bag and out the door I went. The lady at the donut shop was wondering what happened to me. I did manage to get everything made, registers open, and the sidewalk swept before 5:45 to open at 6. Not sure how I did it but I did.Well hope all have a blessed evening and enjoy the snow.

Start of another week. Our Internet wasn't working for a couple of days, amazing how you miss it when you can't use it. Not much going on here. Mercedes and i went to our friend Angie's house tonight. Things went good till Mercedes decided to color on her wall. Right in the middle of the front room. I felt so bad I will now be there painting one of these days. That's okay though cause we have a lot of fun.
Tomorrow Chip and I get to attend a class on guardianship. 3 hours long, wonder what all we are gonna learn? It is required by the courts, so we have to attend and pass.
The wind as been horrible down here. From what i read from Jody it has been up there to. I am SO SICK of it. Mercedes played outside for a while yesterday but the wind was driving her nuts. Well I better get Mercedes in the tub and try to get all the marker off her leg she just showed me.

A fun Weekend

Welcome a new week!!
This weekend was busy for us we went to Chips brother Cinch's for a late Christmas. Everyone was there and we had a wonderful time. Mercedes enjoyed playing with the kids and aunts, uncles, Grandma and Papa. She got a Pablo,(backyardigans) from Cinch's family that she just loves, a book from Latigo's family that has moving pictures she reads constantly, and a stroller from grandma and papa she has everything piled in. A wonderful lunch was served and good conversation was held.
Sunday we went to a hockey game in Kearney. Mercedes stayed with friends. It was a good game, Fargo won 4-2. Only 1 fight and not much of one. We were in a suite with pizza and popcorn provided we just had to buy drinks which was a bummer from last year, they provided pizza, popcorn, and drinks then. A bottle of pop was $2.75, thank god we didn't drink beer at $4.75 for small draft. But we had fun. We did a little shopping then came home. Mercedes had a fun time at Carlos and Angies.

Work

I hope everybodys day went good. Today I am dragging! I ended up working yesterday from 5 a.m. to 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 then turned around to be back at 5 a.m. today. I guess that is the joy of being assistant manager. My boss has been ready to smack me the last 2 days, I guess I have been a smarta**.If nothing else to relieves the stress of worrying about who is going to work.
Mercedes had fun over at our friends house she played hard with the 2 kids. She is so funny. She loves Carlos(he,s 7) typical boy running, slideing, falling over, and flips. Mercedes laughs so hard at him. Well i hope you all have a good day tomorrow.

Back to the old grind

So Chip has been off work for the holidays. He worked Monday and Tuesday before Christmas and finally went back to work today. The babysitter has also been off, needless to say Chip was ready for Mercedes to go to daycare and get back on her routine. So today I get a call Chips pickup won't start, he needes me to leave work to run her to the babysitter. We get to the babysitter and before Chip even opens the door "bye, see ya, later, bye , love you." comes from the back seat. I think Mercedes was more excited to go to daycare than Chip was toi take her there. She always stands at the window and waves bye, she was waving today, I belive our waves back went unnoticed though, as she was looking at the tv the whole time.
We are a little shirt of help at work so today I was at the counter for the entire shift. I also had to do the side work of cleaning floors and such. I realized just how long it has been sense I swept and mopped the floor, it gave me a work out that is for sure.
As I am writing this Go Diego Go is on, Mercedes is so into it. She dances and sings and has to stand in the middle of the livingroom to do it. She loves Backyardigans, Blues Clues and Dora but I think Diego is her most favorite now. We went to the grocery store the other day and could not leave without Diego fruit snacks. Who care about carebears, barbie, and princess's.

Here I go!!

I had been thinking about starting a blog for a while, and well over Christmas Jody told me to start one. So with her advice here I go. 2009 started off quitely, so quitely we stayed home watched t.v., played on the computer and were all in bed by 10:30. I worked the next morning so staying up late didn't appeal to me. We haven't done anything exciting yet, work, grocery shopping, cleaning, the normal daily routine. We did have our good friends Carol and Fidel over for supper last night. Nothing to big, conversation and laugh at Mercedes. She is such a ham. She loves to set the table so her and "Grandpa Carol" set the table.

We have finally got Mercedes to say Grandpa. Grandma doesn't come out yet so we have Gramdpas and Papas it works. Mercedes knows who shes talking to, if only we could get used to it.
